Rat Trap Hammer Lamp

Designed and made by Tel Aviv's Studio Sfog

"What is common to reassembled objects is the fact that they were derived from the objects that surround us while simultaneously manage to remain distinguished by a simple change in their functionality” Breton, The Crisis of the Object, 1936.

For Hannukah (the Jewish festival of lights), we created a new light object from a rat trap we found and a spare hammer we had in our studio. Placing these unrelated objects together and the inability to settle their functionality with each other, allows the occurrence of new contexts and uses.

Materials:
Pine wood board, small hammer, rat trap, and electrical components.

Measurements:
Length: 38.5cm
Width: 9.5cm
Height: 11cm
Cord Length: 185cm

  • We recommend fixing the lamp strongly to the wall with screws.
  • We recommend using a quad loop coil vintage style clear incandescent bulb.
  • American customers will need to use an electrical transformer.
  • *Bulb not included.
