"Honor Thy Inner Voice" I asked myself what would the portraits of our mothers and grandmothers would look like if we were to personify and draw their inner voices as well? ...and dreamed of my own shamanistic maternal lineage....

Illustrated by hand; transferred and digitally printed on 100% silk, and washed satin; edges are hand-rolled.

Each scarf has a unique crocheted charm that carries forward the traditional Turkish art of oya. The crochet characters are hand-made in Southeastern Turkey in cooperation with a UNDP project that aim to foster sustainable economic development of the region’s women. Each scarf comes in its own linen pouch that is hand-embroidered with the Rumisu's bird logo.
