The beauty of using such an organic and free flowing material such as ink is that no two paintings are ever the same, even if they have the same theme. Beginning with the ink background, done in a day long layering process to achieve depth, the artist Kahila allows the richness and fluidity of the ink to give each piece its original background. The geometric design is then sketched on top of the dried ink background.
